MW4 DMZ Free Trial: Dates, Xbox Access & What You Can Play

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 players have a new reason to jump into DMZ this weekend. Activision has opened a limited-time free trial, giving players access to the full DMZ experience without purchasing the mode separately.

If you have been curious about DMZ, this is a good opportunity to try its extraction gameplay, explore the exclusion zone and complete missions with your squad.

When Does the MW4 DMZ Free Trial End?

The free trial runs during the following period:

- Start: November 6, 2026, at 12 PM PT

- End: November 11, 2026, at 10 AM PT

- Albania time: November 6 at approximately 9 PM until November 11 at 7 PM

The trial is temporary, so make sure you have enough time to play before access ends.

How to Access the Free Trial on Xbox

Xbox has included Modern Warfare 4 DMZ in its Free Play Days promotion.

To access it:

1. Open the Xbox Store on your console.

2. Navigate to the Subscriptions section.

3. Find the Free Play Days collection.

4. Look for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – DMZ.

5. Select the game and follow the installation instructions.

You can also find the game through its individual Xbox Store page.

Do You Need Xbox Game Pass?

Yes. According to Xbox's announcement, this particular Free Play Days offer requires an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential membership.

The offer is not listed as a free-to-all Xbox promotion, so check your membership before trying to install it.

What Can You Do in DMZ During the Trial?

The trial gives players access to the full DMZ experience, including:

- Deploying into the exclusion zone solo or with a squad.

- Exploring Hajin and searching for valuable loot.

- Fighting enemy forces and other Operators.

- Completing new DMZ Orders.

- Taking on Threat Assessments.

- Exploring X01, a former North Korean weapons facility seized by Russian forces.

- Trying to extract with the equipment and rewards you manage to secure.

DMZ is built around risk and reward. You can collect valuable equipment, but surviving long enough to extract is what makes each deployment count.

Is This a Good Time to Try DMZ?

If you have never played DMZ before, this trial is a useful opportunity to understand how the mode works before deciding whether you want to spend more time with it.

A few tips for your first deployment:

- Avoid unnecessary fights when you are carrying valuable loot.

- Learn the extraction locations before moving too far from your starting area.

- Keep an eye on your equipment and ammunition.

- If you play with friends, communicate before entering dangerous areas.

- Do not assume every encounter with another Operator will be friendly.

Final Thoughts

The MW4 DMZ free trial gives players several days to experience the extraction mode and explore its latest content.

If you are already playing Season 1, it is another reason to return to the game. If you have never tried DMZ, this weekend could be the right time to see whether its high-risk extraction gameplay is your style.

Remember: the trial ends on November 11, 2026, at 10 AM PT.
