EA FC 27 Update 1.0.1: What's New and What's Fixed?

EA Sports FC 27 is receiving its first major post-Early Access bug-fixing update, Title Update 1.0.1, ahead of the game's worldwide launch.

The update focuses primarily on fixing issues reported by players and feedback collected during the Closed Beta. EA has also stated that this update is not intended to significantly change gameplay balance or tuning, meaning players should not expect a major change to the current FC 27 gameplay experience.

Here is everything currently included in EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.1.

Gameplay Changes

Jockey and Sprint Jockey settings adjusted

EA has increased the default Jockey Speed and Sprint Jockey Speed sliders in Authentic Gameplay.

There is an important limitation here: this adjustment applies to Career Mode and Kick Off, and does not affect Competitive Gameplay 

The Grounds 11v11 fatigue adjusted

The update increases the effect of fatigue on players' long-term stamina during 11v11 matches in The Grounds.

Custom controller preset issue fixed

EA has fixed an issue where players using a custom controller preset could sometimes be unable to perform their intended inputs.

This should be particularly relevant to players who experienced controller problems during Early Access.

Ultimate Team Fix

Evolutions filter could make the UI unresponsive

A problem involving Filter Evolutions By Player has been fixed.

Previously, selecting a Player Item that did not meet the requirements of the filter could cause parts of the Ultimate Team interface to become unresponsive.

Title Update 1.0.1 addresses this issue.

Importantly, this is not a major Ultimate Team gameplay rebalance. The update is primarily fixing functionality rather than changing the current competitive meta.

The Grounds Fixes

The Grounds receives several fixes in the first update.

5-Star Skill Moves

Players who have the appropriate skill level unlocked and equipped should now be able to perform 5-Star Skill Moves during Street Football matches.

This fixes an issue where the moves could remain unavailable despite the Avatar having the required ability. 

Hot Join

EA addressed situations where Hot Join could prevent players from successfully joining a match. 

High ping in League Matches

The update also addresses instances of unexpectedly high ping during League Matches in The Grounds. 

🖥️ PS5 and Other Fixes

The update also includes additional stability and platform-specific fixes.

On PS5, EA addressed a visual issue that could appear in the main menu.

For Nintendo Switch, the update fixes an issue involving installed DLC commentary languages. 

EA is also continuing to investigate other issues reported by the FC community, so this should not necessarily be considered the final word on FC 27's early bugs. 

What Has NOT Changed?

This is probably one of the most important things to understand about Title Update 1.0.1.

EA is not using this patch for a major gameplay rebalance.

The stated purpose is to address bugs and feedback while preserving the Early Access gameplay experience. 

So don't expect this update to completely change:

Competitive defending

Passing meta

Ultimate Team gameplay balance

The overall FC 27 gameplay system

Those types of changes would require a different kind of gameplay-focused update.

When Is EA FC 27 Update 1.0.1 Available?

The update is being rolled out ahead of the September 25 worldwide launch. Current reporting places the rollout around September 23, following EA's announcement of the incoming update. 

EA FC 27's worldwide launch is scheduled for September 25, 2026, following Early Access. 

Final Take

Title Update 1.0.1 isn't a huge gameplay patch — and that's intentional.

EA is using the first FC 27 update mainly to clean up problems discovered during Early Access and Closed Beta feedback while keeping the existing gameplay experience largely intact.

For players experiencing controller-input problems, Ultimate Team UI issues, The Grounds matchmaking problems, high ping or missing 5-Star Skill Moves, these are the fixes that matter most.

And because EA says it is continuing to investigate additional community-reported issues, FC 27's update history is likely to continue evolving after launch.
