EA FC 27 Ratings After the Ballon d’Or 2026: Will Kane and Top Players Get Upgrades?

Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, putting the Bayern Munich striker at the center of the football world. But could his historic achievement lead to higher player ratings in EA SPORTS FC 27?

The award has also restarted the debate around Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Erling Haaland and other elite players. Fans are now wondering whether EA could adjust their overall ratings or introduce new special cards in Ultimate Team.

Here is what we know so far, what could happen next, and which players deserve attention.

Harry Kane Wins the Ballon d’Or 2026

Harry Kane won the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or after an outstanding season for Bayern Munich and England. He finished ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal in the final rankings.

The award gives Kane a major career milestone, but it does not automatically change his EA FC 27 rating. EA has not announced a rating upgrade specifically because of the Ballon d’Or result.

Will EA FC 27 Change Base Player Ratings?

At launch, EA FC 27 gave Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland an overall rating of 91. Harry Kane, Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise, Pedri and Lamine Yamal were among the players rated 90.

These launch ratings are a useful reference point, but winning an individual award does not guarantee that a player's base overall will increase during the season.

EA has not confirmed a post-Ballon d’Or base-rating refresh for Kane or the other leading players. Until an official announcement appears, any predicted overall changes should be treated as speculation rather than confirmed news.

Could Harry Kane Receive a Special Ultimate Team Card?

A special Harry Kane item is one of the possibilities fans may watch for following his Ballon d’Or victory.

EA FC 27 already has a system for live upgrades on selected Ultimate Team items. EA explained that players featured in the Destined for Glory campaign could receive upgrades based on real-world performances.

However, that system does not mean Kane will automatically receive a new item after winning the award. EA has not confirmed a Ballon d’Or-themed Kane card or a specific promotion connected to the ceremony.

If EA introduces a relevant campaign, players could see special items, objectives or Squad Building Challenges. These are possibilities, not confirmed features.

Which Top Players Could Be Part of the Conversation?

Harry Kane

Kane is the obvious name to watch after winning the award. His existing rating and any future Ultimate Team items will be worth checking if EA announces changes.

Kylian Mbappé

Mbappé finished second in the Ballon d’Or rankings and began FC 27 with a 91 overall rating. His position among the game's elite players makes him a natural part of the rating debate.

Lamine Yamal

Yamal finished third and remains one of the most prominent young stars in world football. Fans may be interested in whether EA recognizes his performances through future content or rating decisions.

Erling Haaland

Haaland also started FC 27 with a 91 overall rating. His standing among the game's highest-rated players makes him another name to monitor, although the Ballon d’Or result alone does not confirm a change.

Base Ratings vs Ultimate Team Special Cards: What Is the Difference?

This distinction matters.

A base-rating change affects the player's standard rating in the game database and relevant modes. A special Ultimate Team item can have different attributes or an upgraded overall without necessarily changing the player's base card.

That means Kane could potentially receive special Ultimate Team content in the future without EA changing his standard base overall. Equally, a Ballon d’Or win does not guarantee either outcome.

What Should EA FC 27 Players Expect Next?

For now, the most accurate answer is that EA has not announced a general player-rating update tied to the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

The developments worth watching are official EA announcements about ratings, Ultimate Team campaigns, new player items and live-upgrade mechanics. If EA confirms a rating refresh or a Ballon d’Or promotion, the details will provide a clearer picture of which players are affected.

Until then, claims that Kane is definitely getting a higher overall—or that Mbappé, Yamal or Haaland will have their ratings changed—remain unconfirmed.

Final Verdict

Harry Kane's Ballon d’Or win has created a compelling reason to discuss EA FC 27 ratings, but it does not automatically trigger an upgrade.

The most important distinction is between a base-rating refresh and a possible Ultimate Team special card. Neither a post-award base-rating change nor a Kane Ballon d’Or promotion has been officially confirmed.

For FC 27 players, Kane, Mbappé, Yamal and Haaland are worth watching as the season develops. We will have to wait for EA's official announcements before treating any predicted ratings or special cards as fact.
